Summer Reading for Toddlers - The Little Engine that Could

Dear Readers,

The book entitled The Little Engine that Could is a child's first lesson in the power of positive thinking long before a child gets a chance to read the adult version written by Norman Vincent Peale. After the passenger train clown's plea for help is declined by the passenger train, a powerful engine, and an elderly engine, the little blue engine is the only engine that accepts the task, quest, challenge of helping the Christmas toys reach the children's Christmas trees over the steep mountain.

I think I can, I think I can, I thought I could phrase will resonate in your child's mind for difficult tasks and encouragement to accomplish goals.

Happy Summer

Dear Readers,

Summer is finally here, although many of us do not need a calendar to tell us that it is summer. The weather, no school, preparing for vacation, hearing the music from the ice cream truck are all gentle reminders that summer has arrived. But just in case you need a note to remind you - here it is - Today is the first day of Summer! I hope you have many things planned for your child this summer.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

Dear Readers,

There are so many different ways that Fathers can be explained, because every father is different. You have those who read, fish, hunt, camp, golf, swim, sportsman, blue collar, white, businessman, pilot, preacher, carpenter, baker... Fathers wear so many hats and have so many different interest, but I can say that I believe that a true Father is one who loves and cares for his children and who are always proud of his children.

This is my tribute to all Fathers

A FATHER MEANS...

A Father means so many things...
A understanding heart,
A source of strength and of support
Right from the very start.
A constant readiness to help
In a kind and thoughtful way.
With encouragement and forgiveness
No matter what comes your way.
A special generosity and always affection, too
A Father means so many things
When he's a man like you...

Summer Reading for Toddlers - Good Night Moon

Dear Readers,

Summer is just around the corner but I hope that you have already visited your local library and gotten your toddler signed up for Summer Reading 2011.

Are you wondering what are some good books to read? Let me help you out by providing you with some books that I enjoyed reading to my toddlers:

Here is the first one that is bedtime favorite:
Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

This is a very colorful picture book that is great for bedtime classic in American children's literature. The rhyming poems in this book will lull you and your child o sleep because the rhymes are so soothing. Even though the story line of the book takes place in the bedroom with the child bunny trying to avoid sleep by saying Goodnight to everything in great green room. By the way, green is my favorite color.
